We are very excited to introduce our 17 days yoga trek package to the base camp of Mount Everest. Everest base camp yoga trekking is a perfect package for yogis who love adventure and like to challenge themselves. Take your yoga journey to the next level by joining Everest base camp trekking. One of our professional yoga instructors will join you on the trek to enrich the venture and offer an immersive experience.

As per the great Hindu mythology book, The Bhagavad Gita, yoga means a journey of the self, through the self, and to the self. And trekking to the lap of Mt. Everest, the highest mountain in the world itself is a journey of a lifetime for every human. Combining yoga practice while relishing majestic mountain views and breathing the tranquillity of the Himalayas revitalises greater relaxation, calmness, and awareness in one.

Far away from modern society and its twisted opinions, you get to unwind in a space where no one judges. You will not only connect to your soul but also connect to nature. The rushing sounds of streams & rivers, the chirping of birds, the burble of waterfalls, and the hurdles of the Himalayan terrain make the Everest base camp yoga trek fantastic.

Views during the Everest yoga trek

During this 17 Days Everest base camp yoga trekking, every day will bring a new panorama, whether it be the historical monuments in the bustling city of Kathmandu, aerial views of the Himalayas during the Kathmandu Lukla flight, or diverse landscapes throughout the trekking route.

The Everest base camp yoga trek route, is dominated by the eight-thousander giants and numerous other snow-capped mountains. The views during the Everest yoga trek are phenomenal. There's no ending to it.

Mt. Everest (8,849 m), Mt. Makalu (8,463 m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,188 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Nuptse (7,861 m), Mt. Pumori (7,161 m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812 m), Mt. Thamserku (6,608 m), etc are some of the mountains you get to see while trekking. Likewise, the trek also offers spectacular views of glaciers and moraines.

Everest base camp yoga trek difficulty

The yoga part of the Everest base camp trek makes the journey less challenging than it can be for novice trekkers. Daily stretching and practising yoga will keep your mind and body fresh. Your muscles will not get sore, and you'll be able to maintain your energy.

Still, we do not want to imply that the Everest base camp yoga trek is easy. Do not underestimate the Himalayan terrain. If you are properly prepared physically and mentally, there'll be no issue during the trek.

The trekking route continuously ascends and descends. As you'll be walking 5 to 6 hours a day, it's crucial to maintain your stamina. Whether you are a beginner trekker or an experienced one, you can join our 17 Days Everest base camp yoga trek. We'll help you get ready for the venture.

Altitude sickness

The risk of altitude sickness during the Everest base camp yoga trek is relatively high because of the lofty elevation gain. However, our itinerary has adequate rest days between the trek to give ample time to trekkers to let them adjust to the elevation. Moreover, we only ascend 500 metres a day, and our guide makes sure the trekkers are hydrated too. It will keep you away from altitude sickness.

Preparation for Everest yoga trek

First of all, get your mind and body ready for the trip. To do so, we recommend you do cardio activities like hiking, swimming, cycling, or jogging. Cardio will build your stamina. You can also do core strengthening exercises.

The Everest region is a remote area. Even though the trail has most of the tourist infrastructure, there's always a limitation to what you can get in the Himalayas. Your endurance in the absence of modern facilities will keep you moving during the trek.

Do pack leggings or loose pants to do yoga on the trek.

You can rent or buy heavy trekking gear in Thamel, Kathmandu, as per your budget. No need to bring everything from your home. For shoes, do not wear new trekking shoes during the trek, or you may end up with blisters.

Booking

To book this yoga trek, we kindly request you to contact us or place a booking request through our site. We are taking booking for the Everest base camp yoga trek in autumn 2024. Likewise, you can also do the early booking for 2025 spring & autumn.

Here is one more famous yoga trek in Nepal package- the Mardi Himal yoga trek. We can also custom create a yoga trek to any destination in the Himalayas, so if you have any special requests, do let us know.

    Essential Info

    Best time

The best time to do Everest base camp yoga trekking is spring and autumn. These seasons make this special trekking package magical because of clear, bright days and stunning views. The yoga sessions become more fun and delightful, thanks to all the stunning landscapes.

Likewise, stable weather and moderate climate make the journey smooth. March to April and October to November are the peak trekking season to EBC, so the trail is butling and cheering, which also makes the yoga trekking fabulous.

    Accommodation

During the yoga trek, the accommodation is the lodge. Everest region has all kinds of lodges, from budget-friendly to luxury. Our Everest base camp yoga trek package covers a basic but comfortable lodge for a night's stay. We do all the reservations for you in advance to make sure there's no issue getting room in the peak trekking season.

The rooms are twin-shared. Unless we get a request from our guests for a single room, we generally book a double bedroom. The rooms will be clean and cosy. You'll have a goodnight's sleep every night during the trek. The washroom can be common or private.

    Meal

The meal options during the EBC yoga trek are great. You'll not struggle to find things to eat. We have three meals a day while trekking. All the meals are offered as per the menu of the lodges. Boiled drinking water is available too in all the lodges along the way.

In general, you can expect Nepali dishes like dal bhat, chapati, curries, soup, dhido, etc. These options are very filling and nutritious. Likewise, there are other dishes available too, like pizza, burgers, sandwiches, steak, pasta, noodles, momo, porridge, thukpa, thenduk, etc.

    Group/private joining

We have group joining and private trekking options for the Everest base camp yoga trek. You can trek with your loved ones, or if you are a solo traveller, you can trek with other trekkers from all parts of the world.

We have a regular departure for Everest base camp yoga trekking in the peak season. You can choose the starting time of the trek as per your time. If you do not feel comfortable trekking with strangers, we can also organise a private trek for you.

    Child Policy

To do Everest base camp yoga trekking with your kid, we need detailed information about your kid. We have many examples of parents trekking to EBC with their children successfully. However, whether your kid can endure the challenges the trails hold or not is necessary to evaluate.

To do so, we'll look into your kid's health and previous outdoor activities involvements. This small attention to detail allows us to offer a safe and immersive experience to our guests. You can talk to us more about it at whatsapp +358452062555

    Travel Insurance

It's better to have travel insurance if you are trekking in the Himalayas. Everest Base Camp Yoga Trek traverses the remote Khumbu region and leads up to 5,644 metres. The high elevation and bare minimum infrastructure is the reason we recommend getting travel insurance to our guests.

Journeys like this are unpredictable. Even if we make sure everything goes fine, we cannot stop unseen events. And travel insurance will help us provide you medical assistance promptly if anything happens. Include air evacuation and medical bills in your travel insurance.

    FAQs

    • Q1. When will we do yoga in the Everest base camp Yoga Trek?

The one major thing that differentiates the usual EBC trek from EBC yoga trekking is the daily yoga and meditation sessions. A professional yoga guru will teach yoga during the trek. You'll learn a lot about yoga and practice multiple styles.

During the trek, we usually have two yoga sessions every day, the morning and evening sessions. The morning yoga sessions will prepare your mind and body for the day, and the evening yoga sessions help you unwind. We'll choose the best spots for our yoga sessions backed by spectacular mountain views.

    • You do not have to carry anything special for the yoga sessions during the trek, apart from your yoga clothes. All other things like mats are provided by the company. If you wish to bring your own yoga mat, then it's up to you.

    • In Kathmandu, the accommodation will be a three-star hotel or a tourist standard hotel with all the modern amenities, including free WiFi, AC, TV, etc. You can get a double or single room as per your convenience.

    • The flight to/from Lukla is always in the morning. The morning has the most stable weather to land and takeoff. Likewise, the clear weather makes the visibility great for flying.

    • The trail to Everest base camp is moderately difficult. If you can walk 6 to 7 hours a day on rough terrain, you can pretty much do this trek. Likewise, regular acclimatisation will keep you away from altitude sickness. Maintain your pace, and walk slowly, eat healthy meals, and you can do this trek without any worries.

    • Yes, the trekkers usually lose a few kgs after completing the Everest base camp yoga trekking.

    • For most trekkers, it's not hard to breathe at Everest base camp, but it can be different for some trekkers. Take it slow and enjoy the walk. Do not push yourself too much, and take deep breaths every now & then. The air is thin at EBC, so for sure you feel more easily exhausted than on other days.

    • Yes, you'll need a sleeping bag for EBC yoga trekking. It's best to carry a sleeping bag while trekking in the Himalayas, even though the lodges/teahouse offers a blanket. The mornings and nights are comparatively colder than the daytime. And the blanket provided by the lodges may not be enough to keep your arm.
