Trek Difficulty for Beginner Trekkers

If you are a beginner trekker, then the Everest Base Camp trekking can get a bit difficult for you. For experienced trekkers, it is a moderate trek. The route follows numerous ascends & descends along a steep and rocky path. Likewise, you will also trek through the moraine and glacial path. 6 to 7 hours of walking is needed every day, so you have to be physically fit and healthy. As you will be trekking in a remote area, you also have to prepare yourself mentally to adjust to a distinct way of living.

Altitude Sickness

Every day there will be a 500 m to 700 change in altitude, which can trigger altitude sickness. Therefore, you have to acclimate your body along the trail. We have designed our Everest Base Camp trek itinerary, including adequate rest days to allow you ample time to rest and enjoy the journey without rushing.

Preparation

Everest Base Camp trek preparation involves basic physical training. Hiking, cycling, swimming, running, etc are some of the great activities to work on your stamina. Go on regular long walks to form a habit. You have to be in good health and shape to be able to do this trek smoothly. Likewise, you have to understand that you are travelling in a remote area, therefore all the services are paid for and limited. Correct mindset and determination also change the overall Everest Base Camp trekking experience.

Essential Info

Best time

The Everest Base Camp trekking best time is March to April and October to November. These months are the time when people from all over the world do this adventurous trek. The temperature gets down to around -6°C at the base camp. The weather remains stable, with good visibility and a pleasant climate.

The mornings and nights are colder than the daytime, so we suggest carrying a sleeping bag and a few warm pieces. Similarly, spring brings lots of flowers with it and makes the trail marvellous. Whereas, in autumn, you will see the biggest festivals of Nepal like Dashain, Tihar, Chhat, and so on.

Accommodation & Meals

Everest Base Camp Trek has the most developed trails in the entire Himalayas. You will find luxury to budget-friendly options to spend the night. Your accommodation in this package is a clean & comfortable lodge with both twin-sharing & single rooms. As per the lodges, the washroom can be private or shared. The rooms are small and cosy but do not have extensive services. In Kathmandu, you will spend the nights in a tourist standard hotel.

The meal option on the EBC trek route is the best. Our Everest Base Camp Trek package covers three meals a day while trekking. In Kathmandu, you'll get breakfasts and two dinners (welcome/farewell). You can choose from the menu as you wish. Dal bhat is the most delicious and fresh option. You get rice and lentil soup with veggies/meat-curry and pickles.

Everest Base Camp Trek cost

Everest Base Camp Trek's cost depends on the services you get during the trek. This trek offers both luxury and budget-friendly experience. The price ranges between USD 1200 to USD 4500 and above. The package cost includes things like ground transportation as per the itinerary, flight from/to Lukla, all the necessary permits, accommodation & meals during the trek, and welcome/farewell dinner. Check out the cost includes and excludes section to know more in detail.

Group/private joining

Join a group trek to base camp Everest or trek privately with us. During the peak trekking seasons, we have a regular departure, so you can join the trek as per your wish. If you are trekking in a big group, then no worries, we'll arrange everything for the group. You can get in touch with us to do the bookings.

Child Policy

Trekking with a child to Everest base camp is possible but not easy. Your toddler should be fit and healthy to cope with high altitude and adjust to the environment. Even though the food option is great on the EBC trail, the taste may not be the same as what your child might be used to. So, there are many limitations. Still, you can do Everest base camp trekking with your toddler with us, and we'll make sure you have a safe & hassle-free venture.

Travel Insurance

Get travel insurance covering emergency evacuation and medical bills in your home country because you cannot get travel insurance in Nepal. We need travel insurance documents to confirm the booking. Everest base camp trek involves unseen risks because of the remote region and high altitude. We require travel insurance to offer you a safe trek and immediate medical assistance (if needed).
